We're here!

Thanks to the help of my parents and sister Savannah we have moved in! They helped a lot by moving things in and out of the moving truck! So far we are loving Manhattan. I was able to find a job on the Tuesday following our move-in. I feel really blessed. I am now working at Perfect Stitches Tailoring as a seamstress. I have been learning a lot and love my boss. Here are some pics of our apartment. We are really loving it. It is the first time we have felt settled into a home since we have been married.

Family Reunion!

                                     Rachael, Davy, Chris, Amy, Kyle
                              Jim, LeAnn, Grandmother, Granddady

I love family reunions! We just go back from a wonderful reunion with Davy's family. Even though I haven't known them for a long time, it was such a blast! Several Aunts and cousins brought old photos for everyone and anyone to identify (Any genealogist's dream!). Some that weren't even identified were the most interesting and beautiful. There were three sisters in particular who stood out to me.

                                                                      Hazel Divine

                                                                   Hettie Divine

                                                                    Helen Deivine

Those names were written on the photos. I am not sure but it could be possible that Hettie is a nickname for Helen. They just seem so alike. Sisters or the same person? Then Hazel is a beautiful girl who I am sure grew up into a beauty like her sister(s). It is hard to explain that I felt a connection even though these were distant relatives of my husband.

Because of the reunion I have been inspired to plan the Watkins Family reunion (my mother's family). I don't think we have ever had a formal reunion before. Well I hope it actually comes about. It is so important to stay connected and some of these relatives I haven't seen since I was 12 years old! (That is a long time!)

New Furniture!

We just go back from taking my brother and sister and my brother-in-law to EFY in Columbia, Missouri. On the way back we stopped by the Nebraska Furniture Mart in Kansas City (even though we are currently living in Omaha). If you have never been there is is HUGE! I could not believe how much was there. We ended up purchasing a couch and love seat (the only ones we both liked) and a TV table thing. I am really happy with the purchase and I have not felt any buyer's remorse. The furniture is a little plain but I plan on making accent pillows. We were happy to find that Manhattan is considered a local delivery so we didn't have to pay extra for that! 5 stars for Nebraska Furniture Mart!
